FORGIVENESS

Surely God wants us to forgive those who wrong or offend us, Mathew 6 v 14 – 15 is clear on this, if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; but if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your heavenly Father forgive your trespasses. If God does not forgive your trespasses, how do you expect to get blessed by Him? I have found out that when we forgive people, we benefit more; it is more to our advantage than the people we forgive. The brothers of Joseph did him much evil, they wanted to kill his dreams and get rid of him. He suffered greatly as a result of their wicked schemes. But from what Joseph said in Genesis 45 v 5, it was obvious that he had long forgiven them: But now, do not therefore be grieved or angry with yourselves because you sold me here… In v 15, he kissed and embraced all of them; his mind was clear towards them, free of any offence. It was not at that point he forgave them, he had forgiven them long before then. And because of that, God blessed him. In Genesis 41 v 51 – 52, he called the name of his first born Manasseh (God has made me forget all my toil…). He called the second Ephraim (God has caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction). Both names reflected the blessings of God in his life. Forgiveness opens the door for blessings to flow in, unforgiveness hinders blessings from flowing in.Let us pray: However bad you may have been treated, receive the grace to forgive. God will fight your battles and give you peace. As you forgive, may the door be opened for your blessings to flow in. All your pending and hanging blessings shall be released, those that have been misplaced shall be replaced. The blessings of God will wipe away all the bitter memories in Jesus’ name. AMEN.
